The learning loss caused by the pandemic has affected students throughout Arizona and across the entire United States.
One of the best ways to ensure your child catches up or stays on pace with their learning – in all areas – is to read with them every day.
For younger children, reading together has tremendous benefits to their learning of phonics, vocabulary, grammar, and many other non-academic areas, too.
For older students who can read independently, I encourage replacing some screen time with reading. Students can read over breakfast in the morning, before bed, any time that they have a small break.
Be sure to record any time spent reading in French or in English on your child’s reading log so their teacher knows their progress.
