Helene Lopez is our Pre-Kindergarten teacher, working with the 4 year-old children.  She was born and raised in the south of France in a town called Bezier. She is bilingual in French and English, having gone to high school and college in Arizona. She just received her United States citizenship in October of 2016 and the FrenchAm family is proud of her accomplishment!

She moved to Arizona with her mom when she was twelve years old and has been in the Valley of the Sun ever since. Her extended family all lives in France and she tries to go back and visit every couple of years when possible. She misses them dearly and she also misses the Mediterranean Sea and the beautiful landscape of the south of France. However, she has become accustomed to the American culture and she has grown fond of the biodiversity found in Arizona. There are so many beautiful places to hike and explore.

In the last few years she has volunteered for a few local wildlife organizations. When possible, Helene tries to dedicate a few days a month to those organizations. It feels good to do something that matters and to give back to the community while having fun and meeting interesting people.

She met Corrine and Patrice through friends of her parents. In 2012, they offered her a job with them for the after-school care. Shortly after she started working at the FrenchAm, she felt in love with the kids and the family-oriented and operated vision of the school. She changed career paths and became a full-time instructor. The parents were thrilled!

Helene took a short leave of absence from school in the spring of 2016 for a very important reason: to welcome her new baby girl! She returned to teach again in the fall and we are happy to have her back.

Helene is very excited to be part of the FrenchAm Family as a teacher and she continues to be a positive and important influence in the life and development of her students. Watching the children grow and learn is fascinating and she is passionate about being a part of that process.
